IN A GAME WHERE PITCHING DOMINATED THE PROCEEDINGS, THE A’s EKE OUT A SWEET VICTORY OVER THE EXPOS AT DOMINICO FIELD
Game Post composed with file from Paul Kelly.
Beneath warm and humid summer skies, the A’s edged the Expos 6-5 in four innings of Bantam Division action this evening at Dominico Field at Christie Pits.
Here are the highlights:
- The affair was mostly a pitching battle — no notable offensive plays. The A’s struck out eight times — three in a row in the fist inning.
- In the second inning, Jack H. (8) turned a double play, catching at first and then throwing to Claire (6) at third, who had the runner trapped and made the tag.
- The Jack H. & Claire double play helped A’s reliever Michael (7), in his second-ever pitching outing, hold the potent Expos offense to two runs.
- A’s Pitchers Ben (4) and Jerome (3) held the Expos scoreless in the third and fourth, respectively.
