Under a blanket of genteel summer skies, the Giants prevailed 11-9 over the Reds in four innings of Mosquito Division play this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 2.
Giants Game Summary by Vincent Lynch.
The Giants started strong with four runs in the top of the first with five walks and a key 2 RBI double delivered by Sasha (5).
The Reds scored two in the bottom of the first to trim the deficit to two.
In the top of the second, the Mighty Giants scored three runs after Jamie (13) got a lead off double; Vincent got on from being hit by a pitch; and then Leo (7) powered a 2 RBI triple and later came home for third run of the inning.
The Big Red Machine got four runs in the second to trail 7-6.
In the third, the Giants were shut out and the Reds scored three to take the lead 9-7.
In the top of the fourth, the Giants scored four runs with a bat around inning with several walks and a single by Jeremy (15) to retake the lead 11-9.
Giants pitcher Jamie (13) closed out the fourth by pitching a shut out in the bottom of the inning to seal the deal on a hard fought win.
