WITH A WHOPPING SEVENTEEN GAMES PLAYED ON SATURDAY, THE 2014 TP HOUSE LEAGUE BASEBALL TOURNAMENT CONTINUES TODAY WITH TWELVE MORE GAMES ON SUNDAY
Beneath a veil of cloudy and sunny skies yesterday at Christie Pits, seventeen amazing games were played across four diamonds from dawn to dusk at the 2014 Toronto Playgrounds House League Baseball Tournament.
An electric and festive carnival atmosphere was prevalent as players, coaches, parents , family, friends and baseball fans enjoyed their time at the games and the TP Barbecue Zone throughout the day. Indeed, a splendid time was had by all.
With seventeen games completed on Saturday, ‘September Madness’ enters the elimination playoff portion of the tournament in our Mosquito, Peewee and Bantam and Midget divisions, where another twelve games will be played on Sunday.
Once again, we will also have our TP Baseball BBQ Zone operating full speed on Sunday to feed everyone attending the ‘September Madness’ festivities.
Upwards of 49 games are scheduled to be played within the next five day span of the tournament (weather permitting, of course). With seventeen more games in the books, there are only 17 more left to be played.
Players, Parents and Coaches are strongly advised to check your tournament schedule carefully for the dates and times of your team’s games. It is very important that we start all games at the start time listed on the schedule…please try to be at the diamond at least 15 minutes before the start time to give the coaches a chance to get the line ups organized.
On days of questionable weather, Players and Parents are strongly advised to check the our Twitter feed, the Hotline [(416) 392-1914], or website if the weather is suspect for updates on the status of their games. Updates will be posted 45-60 minutes prior to the official game time.
Updated scores and standings will be posted on our website after the conclusion of play each and every night. Game Reports (when available) will be posted the next day.
Additionally, people can also keep up to date with all the scores and important news via our Twitter feed @TPbaseballnews during the tournament. One can also keep up with the scores and standings at the park by viewing our information bulletin board at Christie Pits during the week.
And on the busy weekend of the tourney when 29 games are scheduled to be played, Parents and Players can keep tabs on the tournament by visiting the TP Tournament Scoreboard at the park for the latest updated scores and standings.
