THE TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS BASEBALL ASSOCIATION HAS SCHEDULED SEPTEMBER DATES FOR PLAYERS BORN IN 2004 WHO ARE INTERESTED IN TRYING OUT FOR THE 2015 TP MAJOR MOSQUITO REP TEAM
The Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Association) invites all players born in 2004, who are interested in playing competitive baseball in the 2015 season, to come try out for the TP Major Mosquito Rep Team.
Our main focuses will be on skill development, training, fun, and overall learning/loving the game of baseball. The coaches believe in the kids having a positive experience, developing young competitive baseball players, teamwork, sportsmanship, friendship, and as mentioned, a love of baseball. It’s important to TP that every player end the season feeling as if they have had an excellent overall experience, and come out the other end a better player and person!
Each team will have a busy spring schedule followed by a slightly lighter summer schedule. TP practices in 2015 will begin indoors once a week in the beginning mid-January/top February, (understanding that some have hockey, or other sport commitments etc), and will continue outdoors–probably April once the weather is conducive to outdoor practices. At that time, the frequency of those practices will increase to three times/week till start of season.
During the Season, the TP Major Mosquito Rep Team will play or practice three to four times each week minimum in the spring, and will enter four tournaments over the course of the season, with at least one-two of them being travel/away tournaments. The first two weeks of July are vacation—but there may be optional practices for those wanting/able to attend.
It is important to note that players who will be away for more than four weeks, cannot be considered for this team, as we need ALL players on the TP Major Mosquito Rep Team roster to be at the games. Players are expected to be available for most of August in order to prepare and play in the Toronto Baseball Association (TBA) city playoffs, which are around August 17 -19, 2015 and the Provincial Championships (held on the Labour Day Weekend), if TP advances. This is the jist of the commitment we’re asking for rep baseball 2015.
Lastly, please note that there is a financial commitment to cover costs–from umpire fees, tournament fees, equipment, uniforms, permits, etc. They are expected to be approximately $1000. But this hasn’t been finalized yet…but it’s important to note the potential fee involved.
