TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS BASEBALL HAS SCHEDULED SEVERAL EXCITING EVENTS ON SATURDAY TO CELEBRATE THE START OF ANOTHER WONDERFUL SEASON OF BASEBALL; EVERYONE IS WELCOME!

All members of our Toronto Playgrounds House League Baseball program are cordially invited to attend our third annual TP House League Baseball Season Opening Week Event on Saturday, May 23 at Christie Pits from 9:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
The Opening Week Event is being held to commemorate the commencement of the 2015 Toronto Playgrounds House League Baseball Season at Christie Pits, Bickford Park and Art Eggleton Park.
TP Baseball President Bill Evans and a coterie of our dedicated committee members and volunteers are spearheading this yearly event.
Here is the schedule for Saturday’s festivities:
9:30 to 10:30 a.m.: Pitching clinic for players in the Mosquito Division – diamond 2;
Sliding/baserunning/infield skills for players in the Peewee Division – diamond 3
10:30 to 11:30 a.m.: Pitching clinic for players in the Peewee Division – diamond 2;
Sliding/baserunning/infield skills for players in the Mosquito Division – diamond 3
12:00 noon: Councillor Mike Layton will throw the ceremonial first pitch for our season at Dominico Field (diamond 1)
12:30 p.m.: There will be a walk for interested people to join from Christie Pits to the Bickford Park North diamond (the old “tee ball diamond”) for a few goodbye swings and then on to Art Eggleton Park (the NEW “tee ball diamonds”) for a few hello swings.
ALL participating TP players attending the Opening Week Event are encouraged to wear their uniforms so they can partake in a group photo that will be taken at Dominico Field (a.k.a. Diamond 1) shortly after 12 noon.
In addition, the TP Baseball BBQ Zone will be grillin’ and chillin’ at Christie Pits from 10:00 a.m. onwards with hot dogs, veggie dogs and drinks available at our usual reasonable prices. We hope to see many of you out for this happy occasion.
