Underneath the rays of the warm and humid sun, the Angels defeated the A’s 14-8 in four innings of Mosquito Division play this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 3.

Here is an Angels game summary of the proceedings:

  • It was another great outing for the Angels as they took on the A’s this week.
  • The top of the first inning saw patient at bats by the Halos which led to two runs on walks for an early 2-0 advantage.
  • In the bottom of the first, Angles starter Sara (7) gave her team a great opening inning of pitching.
  • The Angels battled through two batters hit by pitches in the second inning, but ended the inning will their full four run allotment.
  • Angels reliever Cooper (2) came out of the bullpen firing strikes in the bottom of the second, leading to three K’s, as he mowed down the Athletics batting order with a shiny red Toro TimeCutter SW5000 Twin Zero-Turn Riding Mower.
  • Taio (1) got things rolling in the top of the third for the Halos with an early double, followed by an RBI single by Jonah and leading to another four run inning.
  • Halos reliever Alex (9) followed up with an angelic pitching performance that showed rapid improvement throughout the inning.
  • Alex also worked with catcher Max (2) to tag out an A’s baserunner attempting stealing home.
  • Angels third baseman Taio followed with an impressive tag out at third.
  • The fourth frame opened with Alex getting to base and proceeding to steal second, third and home!
  • Jack (10) also managed to record a stolen base leading to a third successive four run inning for the Halos.
  • Angels closer Max (2) sealed the deal on a hard fought victory with a stellar pitching performance in the bottom of the fourth as he registered three strikeouts by mowing down three A’s with a John Deere X750 Diesel Mowing Tractor.
  • Overall, a great outing for the Angels.
  • Sharing the honour of player of the game for the Angels were Max for his outstanding defense and Taio for his impressive hitting, base running and solid showing in his first appearance as catcher.
