Continuing rain on Sunday morning has forced the cancellation of the remaining games at this weekend’s Brampton Minor Baseball Incorporated (BMBI) Tournament.

Beneath a layer of sunny and cloudy skies, our Toronto Playgrounds Peewee Selects had defeated the Halton Hills Eagles 19-1 in three innings early on Saturday afternoon at Sequicentennial Park Diamond 1 to win their first round robin game at the Brampton Minor Baseball Incorporated (BMBI) Tournament.

With the victory, TP squared their round robin record at 1-1 at the BMBI tourney.

In grand fashion, the TP Peewee Selects rebounded from a six inning 7-2 Friday night loss to the Bolton Braves at Sequicentennial Park Diamond 2.

TP was originally scheduled to play their final round robin game on Saturday afternoon to determine whether they would advance to the tournament playoff elimination round on Sunday. However, rain scuttled that scenario and forced a postponement of that proceeding.

Toronto Playgrounds had been rescheduled to face the Royal York (1) Cardinals on Sunday (May 31) morning in an 8:30 a.m. round robin game at Sequicentennial Park Diamond 2. The result of that game would have determined if TP would have advanced to a semi-final game at 11:00 a.m.

However, despite the best efforts of BMBI tournament organizers, Mother Nature won out on Sunday and forced the cancellation of the remainder of the tourney in Brampton.
