DELIVERY MAN: With the game squared 5-5, Eli R. (7) delivered a clutch 2 RBI triple in the bottom of the third at the Bickford Park South Diamond that propelled the White Sox to a win over the A’s. In two plate appearances, Eli R. went 1 for 1 [walk, triple] with a run scored and 2 RBI’s.

Beneath a ceiling of warm and hazy skies, the White Sox defeated the A’s 12-5 in four innings of Mosquito Division action this evening at the Bickford Park South Diamond.

In an entertaining and well played affair by two talented and well coached teams, the difference in the game was the ability of the White Sox to seize the moment and capitalize on more of the opportunities that were presented to them during the proceedings.

The Athletics jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. After Riley (11) powered a one out double, Stefano (9) stroked a RBI single to bring Riley home with the first run of the game.

White Sox southpaw starter Daniel (12) struck out one during the inning to quell the A’s uprising.

Riley’s cause was helped out admirably by an unassisted Gold Glove double play turned in by Sox shortstop Solly (14). With one out and Athletics on second and first, Solly snared a searing line drive in the webbing of his glove to record the second out of the frame. Next, Solly had the wherewithal to hustle over to second base to force out the wayfaring A’s baserunner who had wandered too far away to chalk up the third out.

Exercising patience at the plate, the White Sox feasted upon a Mandarin buffet offering of five walks in the bottom of the first to take a 4-1 lead. After Daniel led off the inning with a single, Eli D. (4) and Rafi (9) drew back to back walks to load the bases. Elijah (5) followed with a RBI walk to bring Daniel home to roost and tie the game.

With no outs and the bases still juiced, Eli D. would take advantage of an A’s error and blaze homeward and give the Sox a 2-1 lead. After a walk by Eli R. (7) reloaded the bases, Solly would draw a RBI walk to plate Rafi. Another Athletics error would allow Elijah to motor home with the final score of the frame.

In a good effort, A’s starter Owen (10) struck out one during the inning.

With a keen eye at the dish, the A’s threatened in the top of the second as they led off the inning with three consecutive walks to load the bases.

However, White Sox reliever Eli R. (7) found the groove and mowed down the next three Athletics with a John Deere X165 Riding Lawn Mower to leave the bases loaded and keep the A’s off the scoreboard.

In the bottom of the second, the White Sox drew a pair of walks to put two ducks on the pond. Nevertheless, A’s reliever Anthony (12) cooly erased the threat by mowing down three Sox with a Toro TimeCutter SW3200 Lawn Tractor to keep them off the scoresheet.

The Athletics offense surged to life in electrifying fashion in the top of the third as they scored four to take a 5-4 lead. After a lead off single by Anthony, Eli (15) and Riley followed with back to back walks to load the bases. Next, Stefano delivered a RBI sacrifice hit that allowed Anthony to come home to roost and trim the deficit to two.

With one out and two runners on base, Nathan (13) powered a 2 RBI triple to the deep dish pizza nether regions of the outfield that allowed Eli and Riley to sprint home and tie the proceedings.

After a walk by Daniel (4) that put two A’s on the basepaths, Charlie (7) stroked a RBI single that delivered Nathan home with the go ahead run.

However, the White Sox answered back with four in the bottom of the third to retake the lead 8-5. With one out and runners at third and first, the Sox pulled off a daring double steal with Rafi swiping second and Daniel brazenly stealing home to tie the game.

After a walk by Elijah put two ducks on the pond, Eli R. launched a clutch 2 RBI triple to the Twilight Zone territory of the outfield to give the White Sox a 7-5 lead. Solly would follow with a RBI single that brought Eli R. home with an insurance run.

In a strong appearance, A’s reliever Yonah (1) struck out one during the inning.

With their backs to the wall, the Athletics refused to surrender in the top of the fourth as they gamely loaded the bases on three walks. However, White Sox reliever Elijah (5) extinguished the A’s rally attempt by striking out two to keep them off the scoring ledger.

The Sox would dine on five walks in the bottom of the fourth to plate four more runs and salt the game away. After consecutive walks by Kingley (1), Justin (11) and Liam (13) loaded the bases to open the inning, Cooper (3) drew a RBI walk to bring home Kingsley.

Subsequently, respective bases loaded RBI walks by Thomas and Daniel would allow Justin and Liam to come homeward bound. Cooper would pounce upon an A’s error to motor home from third with the final run of the proceedings.

In a fine showing, A’s reliever Eli (15) struck out one Sox during the frame.
