Beneath a canopy of picturesque blue skies, the North Toronto A’s defeated our Toronto Playgrounds Peewee Selects 7-2 in six innings of Forest Glen Tournament play this afternoon at Garnetwood Park North.
The Saturday afternoon affair was the TP Peewee Selects second round robin game at the annual tournament held in Mississauga.
The game versus the A’s was a nail biter through five innings as TP trailed by a score of 4-2. Eventually, North Toronto pulled away for the victory in the final frame.
In their opening round robin game played on Friday night, Gatineau-Hull defeated the TP Peewee Selects 11-4 in four innings at Fleetwood Park South.
During the proceedings, Toronto Playgrounds loaded the bases twice. Unfortunately, the TP offense was unable to convert on those precious opportunities as they left the bases stranded on both occasions.
With their second round robin loss, the TP Peewee Selects (0-2) are officially knocked out of contention for a spot in Sunday’s playoff round at the Forest Glen tourney. TP still has to play its final round robin game later tonight when they will face the Clarington Orioles at 8:30 p.m. at Fleetwood Park South.
Updates from the tournament will be posted when they become available.
GO! TP! GO!
