Beneath a layer of glorious skies, our Toronto Playgrounds Mosquito Selects went down swinging this afternoon at the Mississauga Majors Tournament.

TP had begun the round robin portion of the tourney on Friday evening with a close 8-7 loss to the North York Blues in six innings at Lakeview Park.

In grand fashion, Toronto Playgrounds rebounded with a nail biting 13-12 win over the Brampton Blue Jays this morning at Lakeview Park.

In their third and final round robin game this afternoon, the Mississauga Majors (the host team) hammered TP 18-3 at Crookes Park to knock them out of contention for any tournament playoff round play on Sunday.

Despite coming up short at the weekend tourney, the TP Mosquito Selects (1-2) still had fun time and battled right to the end.

The TP Baseball Committee wishes to commend Mosquito Select Head Coach Paul Kelly and Assistant Coaches Marco Bianchi  and Adin Wener for their fortitude and patience in steering these talented Mosquito Selects to a respectable showing at the Mississauga Majors Tournament.

The Committee also wishes to congratulate all the Mosquito Select players, coaches and parents for representing the core values of the Toronto Playgrounds Baseball program with honour, dignity and professionalism on and off the diamond at the tournament and on the EBA Select Loop circuit.

Way to go, TP!
