TAKING CONTROL OF THE MIZZENMAST, THE GNARLY BUCCANEERS PILLAGE THE MIGHTY GIANTS TO SEIZE THE GOLD DOUBLOONS OF SWEET VICTORY AT CHRISTIE PITS
Game Post composed with file from John Hill
Beneath the hazy moonlight of a humid summer night, the Pirates defeated the Giants 10-6 in four shiver me timber innings of Peewee Division action tonight on the warm waters of Christie Pits Diamond Two Bay.
Here is the Pirate Captain’s journal of the pitched battle:
-
The Buccaneers received great pitching from Elliott, Alexander (2), Daniel and Aaron over four innings.
-
Solid Pirates catching by Alexander, Elliott and Francis (11).
-
The turning point in the game was double play initiated by Francis, who got a pop fly and made a throw to Pirates pitcher Daniel, who threw to Elliott at third to get a wayfaring Giants base runner off the base.
-
The Bucs received solid hitting and base running from the entire team in a total team victory.
