In three plate appearances, Jian went 2 for 3 [two singles] with a run scored and 2 RBI’s. In a relief appearance for the Lizzies in the second, Jian pitched a scoreless inning while striking out one.
In an entertaining and well played proceeding by two talented and well coached teams, the Lizzies made the most of their opportunities to build a lead while stymying the Rockies with some solid pitching and defense to emerge with the victory.

After a one out single by Leo (10), Molly brazenly stole third. On the ensuing play, the Rockies committed an error and this allowed Molly to come home to roost.
Rockies starter Leandro (5) struck out one during the inning to subdue the Lizzies insurrection.
The Rockies would reply to the Lizzies salvo by scoring a run in the bottom of the first to slice the deficit to one. After a one out single by Rahim (2), Matthew (10) stroked a RBI double to bring him home with the Rockies first run of the game.
With a little help from his friends, Lizzies starter Julian (15) pitched a solid inning against the potent Rockies lineup.
In the top of the second, the Lizzies added three to their tally to widen their lead to 5-1. After Alex (14), Julian and Michael drew walks to lead off the inning and load the bases, Roland (9) stroked a RBI single to plate Alex.
Molly would follow with a RBI double to deliver Julian home. Subsequently, a Rockies miscue would allow Molly to scamper homeward bound.
Rockies reliever Rahim (2) would strike out one during the frame to extinguish the Lizzies rebellion.With some stellar defensive help behind him, Lizzies southpaw reliever Jian (8) would strike out one in the bottom of the second to keep the Rockies off the scoreboard.
The Lizzies offense would explode for four in the top of the third to increase their advantage to 9-1. After drawing a walk to open the inning. Gabriel (1) would advance to third on a stolen base and an error. Jian followed with a RBI single to plate Gabriel.
After Alex walked and Julian bunted to load the bases, Michael powered a 2 RBI double that allowed Jian and Alex to come homeward bound. Roland would follow with a RBI single to plate Julian.
Refusing to surrender, the Rockies offense surged to life in the bottom of the third as they combusted for four runs to trim the margin to 9-5. After being hit by pitch, Adi would use his speed to advance to third. Pouncing upon a Lizzies wild pitch, Adi would blaze safely homeward.
After drawing a walk, Jake (4) would swipe a pair of bases and come home on a Lizzies miscue.
Next, after a walk by Lucas (1) and a Rahim single put two ducks on the pond, a wild pitch would open the door for Lucas to come home to roost.
After Leandro was hit by pitch, Matthew launched a RBI double to bring him home.
The Lizzies would tack on an insurance run in the top of the fourth to increase their lead to 10-5. After reaching base on a fielder’s choice, Gabriel would steal a pair of bases to reach third. Jian followed with a RBI single to bring Gabriel home.
Rockies reliever Adi (1) would strike out one during the inning to quell the Lizzies insurgency.
Lizzies closer Michael (7) would strike out two in the bottom of the fourth to keep the Rockies off the scoresheet and seal the deal on a hard fought victory.
With two outs, Lizzies second baseman Gabriel would snag a hot tamale line drive off the bat of Adi in the shoestrings of his glove to record the final out of the game.
A fitting end to a well played affair.
