TIED 7-7, THE RANGERS STEAL THE VICTORY IN THE FINAL INNING OVER TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS AT OURLAND PARK

Beneath a layer of pristine summer skies, the Etobicoke Rangers edged our Toronto Playgrounds Peewee Selects 8-7 in five thrilling innings of Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) Select Loop action this evening at Ourland Park.

Here are some highlights:

  • With thirty seconds to spare, TP and Etobicoke managed to complete fourth inning under the 1:45 no new inning curfew to extend the game into the fifth.
  • Down 7-3, Toronto Playgrounds donned their rally caps in the top of the fifth and stormed back with a vengeance to tie the game!
  • However, Julia (3) of the Rangers [and TP House League Baseball star] broke TP’s hearts when she brazenly stole home to score the winning run in the bottom of the fifth.

The TP Peewee Selects (2-6) continue their EBA Select Loop road trip next week when they travel to Smythe Park on Wednesday, July 22 to play against the York Riverdogs at 6:00 p.m.
