WITH MORE OFFENSIVE FIREWORKS THAN A CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF, TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS PREVAIL OVER THE WHITE SOX AT MARTINGROVE GARDENS

Beneath a blanket of hot and humid skies, our Toronto Playgrounds Rookie Ball Selects defeated the Martyingrove White Sox 17-11 in six innings of Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) Select Loop action this evening at Martingrove Gardens.
Here are the highlights:

TP charged out of the gates by scoring five on seven hits in the top of the first. The first inning highlight was Jordan L. (10) hitting a triple to drive in two runs.

In the top of the second, Toronto Playgrounds scored one on three hits.

The White Sox kept pace with five runs in the bottom of the second.

TP scored three on five hits in the top of the third on a couple of big hits by Cassius (5) [double], Sam (11) [triple] and Malcolm (18) [triple].

In the top of the fifth, TP pulled away by scoring scored five on seven hits. Zev (19 hit a home run to lead off the inning, followed by doubles by Jordan L., Cassius, and Michael (12).

TP scored three insurance runs on five hits in the top of the sixth to salt the game away. Highlights included Zev hitting a double and Jordan L. hit another triple.
The TP Rookie Ball Selects (6-4) continue their never ending July EBA Select Loop road trip when they travel to Smythe Park on Tuesday, July 28 to play against the York Riverdogs at 6:30 p.m.
