The Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Committee wishes to remind Parents and Players that this Saturday (August 22) is Tee Ball Celebration Day!!! This is the final day of our Tee Ball season, and we’re hoping that everyone will be able to join us for the fun!

All players and coaches will receive a free lunch consisting of a hot dog (meat or veggie) from the TP BBQ Zone, a bag of chips, and a juice box. Hot dogs and drinks will also be for sale to friends and family members. Players will also receive their trophy and photo (if they haven’t already received it) after their game.

All Tee Ball Parents and Players are advised that there is a revised schedule for the games on Celebration Day…please check this new schedule carefully as there have been changes made from the original schedule sent out as part of the regular season schedule. Most of the changes are slight in that some teams will be playing one hour later than originally scheduled.

Here is the revised Tee Ball Celebration Day Schedule for Saturday, August 22:

9:00 a.m.
  • Eggleton South Diamond > Chickadees at Pelicans
  • Eggleton North Diamond > Hawks at Herons
  • Bickford South Diamond > Falcons at Loons

10:00 a.m.

  • Eggleton South Diamond > Ocelots at Pumas
  • Eggleton North Diamond > Leopards at Cougars
  • Bickford South Diamond > Ravens at Owls
11:00 a.m.
  • Eggleton South Diamond > Lions at Bobcats
  • Eggleton North Diamond > Cheetahs at Wildcats
  • Bickford South Diamond > Puffins at Condors

12:00 noon

  • Eggleton South Diamond > Lynx at Jaguars
  • Eggleton North Diamond > Cranes at Eagles
  • Bickford South Diamond > Panthers at Tigers

Parents and Players are advised that the Bickford South Diamond is right across Harbord Street from Eggleton Park…it’s at the bottom of the paved pathway at the northwest corner of Grace St. and Harbord Street. Following the games at the Bickford South diamond, players will return to Eggleton Park to receive their trophies and lunch.

Parents are advised that our photographer will be on hand at Art Eggleton Park from 9:45 a.m. to 12:00 noon to take photos of players who missed our TP Baseball Photo Day back in June. These photos will be ready for pick up in a couple of weeks. We will let everyone know by email, Twitter and the website when that pick up day will be in September.

We will also be handing out photos this week at the weekday games to players…they will also be available on Celebration Day and then at the September pick up day referred to above. Trophies will be available at Celebration Day and then at the pick up day in September (not before Celebration Day).

Here is the schedule for the Tee Ball Division Team Lunches:

10:15 a.m. > Chickadees, Pelicans, Hawks, Herons, Falcons, Loons.

11:00 a.m. > Ocelots, Pumas, Ravens, Owls, Leopards, Cougars.

11:30 a.m.> Lynx, Jaguars, Cranes, Eagles, Panthers, Tigers.

12:00 noon > Lions*, Bobcats*, Cheetahs*, Wildcats*, Puffins*, Condors*

*Please note that the teams playing the 12:00 noon games will get their team lunch before their game.

The Committee will be distributing sheets to each coach to fill in during the game telling us the number of meat hot dogs and the number of veggie hot dogs that they need for their team order. Coaches should be included in that number, but not parents, siblings, or other fans…they can order their food separately after the team order has been delivered. Everyone other than players and coaches will be required to pay for their lunch. We will have people coming around part way through each game to collect the order sheet from the coach so we can start to put the team order together. We are asking that after your game the coach and/or other parents come to the BBQ and collect the team order.

We will also need volunteers to help us with preparing the food and delivering the orders, so if you’d like to help out (when your team isn’t playing of course) then let us know by return e-mail at tpbaseball@gmail.com.

Thank you all for your wonderful participation all season as coaches, assistant coaches, and excited spectators! We hope that we see you on Celebration Day!!!

If you have any questions, please contact us at tpbaseball@gmail.com.
