Beneath a blanket of warm summer skies, the Rockies defeated the Lizzies in three innings of Peewee Division action tonight at Christie Pits Diamond 2.
Here is a Rockies account of the proceedings:
- With authority, the Rockies jumped out to a 6-0 lead and then held on to win 11-8.
- The Rockies were led by the brilliant pitching of Alden (7), who shutout the Lizzies for two innings including four strike outs in the final frame.
- Spearheading the Rockies offensive attack were Thomas (9), Leandro (5), Alexander (14), Teddy (12) and Alden, who all contributed two hits each in a balanced attack.
- For good measure, Jake (4) chipped in with a run scoring double in the second.
