TAKING NO PRISONERS, THE GRITTY HALOS HARPOON THE DEVILISH RAYS TO EARN A ROUND ROBIN PLAYOFF VICTORY AT CHRISTIE PITS

As Tiger (4) and Devon (7) of the Rays wait for the throw from left centre field, Angels leadoff batter Jona (15) blazes his way around second base to register a triple in the third inning. In two at bats, Jona sparked the Halos offense by going 2 for 2 [single, triple] with two runs scored.
The proceeding was an entertaining and well played affair between two talented and well schooled teams. In the end, the Angels prevailed for victory over the Rays by utilizing a recipe of strong pitching and an opportunistic offense.

The Angels jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first. After Jona (15) led off the inning with a single, Alex (9) walked to put two Halos on the pond. As Jona swiped third, the Rays committed an error that allowed Alex to move up to second and Jona to come home with the opening run of the game.
Maggie (4) would follow with a monster RBI double to plate Alex.
After Matthew (11) and Sadie (6) drew back to back walks to load the bases, Julien (8) stroked a RBI single to bring Maggie home.
In a gritty effort on the hill, Rays starter Devin (6) pitched a spirited top of the first.
The Rays would answer back with a run in the bottom of the first to trim the deficit to two. After leading off the inning with a walk, Devin would steal second. On the play, the Angels committed an error that allowed Devin to motor all the way home with the Rays first run.
Angels starter Cooper (2) would strike out three in the bottom of the second to subdue the Rays insurgency.
With the Angels sporting their red shoes, the Halos added another three to the scoring ledger in the top of the second to extend their lead to 6-1. After Kiran (5) singled to lead off the frame, Cooper and Jack (10) drew consecutive walks to load the bases. Aiden (13) and Max (12) would follow with back to back RBI walks to bring Kiran and Cooper home.
Taio (1) would deliver a RBI single to plate Jack.
In a determined effort on the mound, Rays reliever Evan (9) pitched a spirited top of the second.
With a single by Tiger (4) and walks by Kismet (12) and Devon (7), the Rays would threaten by loading the bases in the bottom of the second.

However, Angels reliever Max (12) would find the groove and strikeout three to leave the bases stranded and keep the pesky Rays off the scoresheet.
Going for the jugular, the Angels would score another three in the top of the third to stretch their advantage to 9-1. After leading off the inning with a majestic triple to the deep dish pizza nether regions of left centre field, Jona would come home to roost on a Rays error.
Alex, Maggie and Matthew followed with walks to load the bases. A Rays error would allow Alex to come homeward. After Sadie garnered a walk to reload the sacks, another Rays faux pas would bring Maggie homeward.
In a stouthearted foray on the hill, Rays reliever Sadie (1) pitched a spirited top of the third.
The Rays slumbering offense would surge to life in the bottom of the third as they scored three to slice the margin to 9-4. After leading off the frame with a single, Devin would turn on the afterburners and brazenly swipe his way around the bases to score a run.
With one out, Sadie and PJ (2) would garner back to walks to put two Rays on the pond. Nicholas (5) followed with a RBI single to plate Sadie.
After Tiger walked to load the bases, Kismet would draw a RBI walk that allowed PJ to come homeward bound.
In a spirited effort, Angels reliever Alex (9) would strike out one in the bottom of the third.

With the bases still juiced to the gills, Taio powered a 2 RBI double to bring home Cooper and Jack.
In a valiant effort, Rays reliever Nicholas (5) struck out two in the top of the third.
Refusing to surrender, the devilish Rays donned their rally caps in the bottom of the fourth and gamely rallied for three runs to splice the shortfall to five. After Margaret led off the inning with a walk, Devon doubled to put two Rays on the pond. Parker (3) followed with a sacrifice hit that allowed Margaret to motor home.
With one out, Lucky (10) stroked a RBI single to plate Devon. After Lucas (8) drew a walk to put two runners on base, Devin hit into a fielder’s choice that allowed Lucky to come home to roost.
Shaken, but not stirred, Angels closer Maggie (4) would strike out the next batter to seal the deal on a hard fought victory over the gritty Rays.
