With the bases loaded and the game tied 9-9, Ben (5) delivers a RBI hit in the bottom of the fourth inning to bring Leo (10) home with the Lizzies winning run over the Pirates.
Beneath a layer of light rain and overcast skies, the Lizzies edged the Pirates 10-9 in four innings of Peewee Division round robin action tonight at Christie Pits Diamond 2.
The proceeding was an entertaining back and forth battle between two talented and well coached teams.
Down 9-7, the Pirates rallied with a pair in the top of the fourth to tie the game.
However, the Lizzies would take advantage three consecutive walks to lead off the bottom of the fourth and load the bases. Ben (5) delivered a RBI single to bring Leo (10) home from third with the winning run.
