TP UPDATE: Mosquito Division Semi-Final Schedule for September 17

WITH THE COMPLETION OF THE QUARTER-FINAL ELIMINATION ROUND, THE PAIRINGS FOR THE MOSQUITO DIVISION SEMI-FINALS ON THURSDAY HAVE BEEN FINALIZED

The Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Committee has finalized the schedule for the Mosquito Division Semi-final round.

Parents and Players are advised that BOTH semi-final games will be played tomorrow (Thursday, September 17).

Here is the schedule for the Mosquito Division Semi-final games:

Thursday, September 17

• 5:30 p.m.: Royals (3) @ Lizzies (2) [Christie Pits Diamond 3]*
• 5:45 p.m.: Jays (4) @ Angels (1) [Christie Pits Diamond 2]

*Due to the fact that there is no overhead lighting on Diamond 3, the Committee fully expects that the Lizzies and Royals semi-final game will have to be completed under the light on Diamond 2 after the conclusion of the Angels and Jays semi-final game.

With both Mosquito semi-final games being played on Thursday evening, here is the plan we’ll be following:

• The Lizzies and Royals semi-final game on Diamond 3 will have a 5:30 p.m. start time to at least buy us a little more time with sunlight.
• Our full expectation is that, once it gets too dark to continue playing safely on Diamond 3, that game will be completed on Diamond 2 at the conclusion of the Angels and Jays semi-final game being played there (and preceding the Peewee Division Championship Final).
• We will stop the game on Diamond 3 at the end of a full inning in order to make it easier to keep track of the proceedings when the game is resumed again on Diamond 2.
• The Angels will be the home team at diamond 2 in the game starting at 5:45 p.m. This is due to them being the highest remaining seed and also because they already had to be part of a moved game earlier in the week (we want to spread around the “fun” as much as we can).
