IN A TIGHT AFFAIR, THE BENGALS PREVAIL OVER TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS IN THEIR BRAMPTON MINOR BASEBALL INCORPORATED (BMBI) TOURNEY ROUND ROBIN OPENER AT SESQUICENTENNIAL PARK
Game Post composed with file from Bill Evans.
Beneath a twilight ceiling of warm and humid skies, the Orangeville Bengals prevailed 5-2 over our Toronto Playgrounds Major Peewee Selects in five innings this evening at Sesquicentennial Park Diamond 1 in their opening round robin game at the Brampton Minor Baseball Incorporated (BMBI) Tournament.
In a tight tooth and nail battle, where the few runs that were scored came at a high premium, TP starting pitcher Aaron (54) and reliever Piper (13) combined for a stellar effort versus the potent Bengals batting order.
The TP Peewee Selects (0-1) have two more round robin games tomorrow (Saturday, May 28) morning at the BMBI tourney.
In the early game, TP will play against the Royal York Cardinals in a 9;00 a.m. round robin proceeding at Sesquicentennial Park Diamond 1.
Later, Toronto Playgrounds are scheduled to face North Toronto in a round robin affair at Sequicentennial Park Diamond 1.
More updates from the BMBI tourney to follow when available.
