THE CUBBIES PREVAIL OVER THE CARDS TO TAKE THE HONEY JAR OF SWEET VICTORY AT BICKFORD PARK
Game Summary edited with file from Aaron LawBeneath a canopy of hot and windy skies, the Cubs defeated the Cardinals 11-8 in 3 ½ innings of Peewee Division action this evening at the Bickford Park South Diamond.
Here is a Cubs account of the proceedings:
- The Cubs earned their first Peewee Division victory of the season, 11-8 against the Cardinals on a hot – very hot – and windy night.
- The Cubs has three pitching debuts: Felix (2), Winn (13), and Matthew (14), and some solid offense and defense from the team.
- Shamus (1) had a 2 RBI home run and Tristan (6) stroked a 2 RBI double.
- Nico (4) used some smart base running to score the go ahead run in the first and the Cubs never looked back.
- Savannah (10) was the player of the game on defense, making plays to get two outs in fourth to help Matthew get the save.
