THE HALOS ROLL TO A VICTORY OVER THE LIZZIES IN THE NIGHTCAP AT CHRISTIE PITS

DIVINE POWER > Zach (14) [top] powered the Angels attack with a three run home run blast against the Lizzies in the second inning. Both Elliot (13) [bottom right] and James (10) [bottom left] contributed two doubles and a single to spark the Halos offensive thrust.

Beneath the warm twilight of a wondrous midsummer night, the Angels defeated the Lizzies 13-2 in four innings of Mosquito Division action this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 2.

• A team of five Angels along with two borrowed Astros and a Bison played an entertaining game of baseball against Lizzies on a evening that saw the sun set around 8:15 p.m.
• The Angels won 13-2 over Lizzies, who showed grit and resilience.
• The Lizzies attempted a valiant comeback in the third inning but fell short.
• Halos closer Elliott (13) put a stop to their comeback with a one-two-three inning in the bottom of the fourth.
• The solid efforts of Angels pitchers James (10), Zach (14), and Liam (8) awed the baseball fans in the bleachers at Christie Pits Diamond 2.
• The big hits for the Halos came from Zach, who had a three-run home run in the second inning; Elliott and James each had two doubles and a single to help with Angels’ win.
• Astros players Vincent (10) and Desmond (3), who joined Angels for the evening, contributed strong base running and hits to the Angels cause.
• Rose (11) of the Bisons had some amazing at bats to earn two walks and scored two runs in support of Angels win against Lizzies.
