TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS RINSE THE WHITE SOX TO WIN THEIR OPENING EBA MOSQUITO SELECT CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT ROUND ROBIN PLAYOFF GAME AT SMYTHE PARK

Beneath a layer of warm and hazy summer skies, our Toronto Playgrounds Mosquito Selects defeated the Martingrove White Sox 20-7 in five innings this evening at Smythe Park Diamond 1 to win their opening round robin playoff game at the 2016 edition of the Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) Mosquito Select Championship Tournament.
Here are some highlights:
- TP starter Tavaris (55) threw three strong innings and left the game with TP up 14-4 over the White Sox.
- Down 4-2 in the third, TP came through with four runs to go up 6-4.
- The TP Mosquito Selects scored another eleven runs in the fourth to put the game out of reach.
Each team participating in this season’s EBA Mosquito Select Championship Tournament is working under the double knockout formula, whereby a team is eliminated from the tourney once they have lost two playoff elimination games.
The TP Mosquito Selects [1-0] journey at the EBA Select tourney continues tomorrow (Saturday, August 20) afternoon at Ravina Gardens Diamond 1 when they will play against an opponent still to be determined at 12 noon.
