Beneath a canopy of warm and serene summer skies, the Diamondbacks edged the Reds 12-11 in four innings of Bantam Division action this evening at Dominico Field at Christie Pits.
Here is a Reds account of the proceedings:
- Down 11-7, he Diamondbacks won the game in the bottom of the fourth by scoring five runs.
- The Reds took an early 4-0 lead in the first inning while shutting down the D-Backs.
- In the second inning, the D-Backs kept the Reds scoreless while rallying for three runs in the bottom half of the inning to trim the deficit to one.
- The Reds reply with two in the top half of the third to extend their lead to 6-3.
- However, the Diamondbacks answer with four in the bottom of the third to take a 7-6 lead.
- In the top of the fourth, the Reds rally with five runs to go up 11-7.
- But the D-Backs answered with five runs of their own to win 12-11.
