TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS PREVAIL OVER THE WHITE SOX AT CARMEN BUSH TO EARN ITS SEVENTH EBA SELECT VICTORY OF THE SEASON
Beneath a layer of warm and serene summer skies, the Toronto Playgrounds Major Peewee Selects defeated the Martingrove White Sox 11-5 in six innings of Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) Select action this evening at Carmen Bush.
Here is a brief recap of the proceedings courtesy of Jeff Kolyn:
- With the advent of the dog days of summer, TP only had nine players on its game time lineup card- including two call ups from house league – Loyan and Dylan.
- TP pitchers Jamie (52), Nicolas (10) and Max (20) combined to stymie the White Sox over six frames.
- Jamie and Nicolas only gave up a run apiece. Max surrendered three – but not every run was earned.
- TP hit the ball really well against Martingrove.
- In addition, TP also played great defence against the White Sox.
- TP got three big outs from rundowns.
- Dylan, Max and Jude (3) combined to throw out a Martingrove base runner at third trying to stretch a double into a triple.
The TP Major Peewee Selects (7-4) play their final EBA Select road game of the regular season next Wednesday, July 26 when they travel to Millwood Park to battle the Bloordale (Gold) Bombers at 6:15 p.m.
