You Don’t Need A Weatherman To Know Which Way The Wind Blows

HOWEVER, TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS HOUSE LEAGUE BASEBALL WISHES TO REMIND PARENTS & PLAYERS THAT WE WILL PROVIDE STATUS UPDATES ON YOUR GAMES OR PRACTICES ON DAYS OF QUESTIONABLE WEATHER VIA OUR HOTLINE, TWITTER AND WEBSITE PLATFORMS

With only 16 days to go to Opening Day of the House League regular season, and as we start our preseason Spring Training practices, the Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Committee would like to remind all of our Parents, Players and Coaches of the procedure to follow if the weather is threatening and you’re not sure if a game or practice is proceeding as scheduled or cancelled.

On days of questionable weather, you can access information concerning the status of your game or practice by using:

Updated information regarding the status of your game or practice will be posted 45 minutes to one hour prior to the start time of your event.

It is the Committee’s prerogative to play as much baseball as possible. Please bear with us over the course of the long season as we try to “read the signs” that Mother Nature lobs at us. There will be times when we cancel games and practices and it will clear up and be beautiful an hour or so later; and there will be times when we leave games and practices on and then it starts to rain a few minutes in. On the whole, this is the best system with which to provide the most baseball to the most families in the most convenient way.

We’re all looking forward to a great 2018 season…PLAY BALL!
