FIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS, TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS FINISH THE ROUND ROBIN UNDEFEATED TO EARN A BERTH IN THE PLAYOFF ELIMINATION ROUND AT ETOBICOKE VALLEY PARK

Beneath a picturesque ceiling of warm blue skies, the Toronto Playgrounds Rookie Ball Selects defeated the Guelph Royals 28-5 this morning at Etobicoke Valley Park Diamond 2 to earn their third round robin victory at the Lloyd McConnie Memorial Rookie Ball Tournament.
With their victory against the Royals, TP finishes the round robin phase of the tourney with a perfect 3-0 record and are the winners of the David Lauzon Division. As such, TP has advanced into the tournament’s semi-final elimination round.
TP will face the Brampton Royals (the winner of the Bruce Armstrong Division) in a semi-final contest at Etobicoke Valley Park Diamond 3 at 12:30 p.m. The Erindale Lions (winners of the Lloyd McConnie Division) and the Annette A’s (winner of the Brian Cormier Division) will do battle in the other semi-final game. The winners of the semi-final will advance to the championship game at Diamond 2 at 4:00 p.m.
TP opened the Lloyd McConnie tourney yesterday morning with a convincing 17-2 victory over the Royal York Red Cardinals to earn their first round robin victory.
With the wind in their sails, TP capped off their Saturday with a dominating 29-0 win over the North Toronto Minor A’s to capture their second win.
