Beneath a tranquil ceiling of warm summer skies, the Toronto Playgrounds Major Mosquito Selects defeated the Martingrove Grey 38-0 in three innings of Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) Mosquito Select Loop action this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 2.

Firing on all cylinders, TP scored thirteen runs in the first inning and tallied another twenty-three runs in the second frame to cruise to a blowout victory over Martingrove.

With a total team effort, TP laundered the White Sox with a no mercy thirty-two hit bombardment.

In six at bats, Rocco (99) went 5 for 5 [four singles, double, walk] at the plate to lead the TP offensive fireworks with four runs scored and seven RBI’s against the Grey.

William (33) chipped in with a sweet two run inside the park home run blast in the first inning. William scored four runs while chipping in with five RBI’s versus the White Sox.

Leadoff batter Arlo (15) sparked the TP attack by going 4 for 4 at the dish with five runs scored and five RBI’s. Arlo delivered a key two RBI single in the first frame and a mojo jojo three RBI triple in the second inning.

TP starter Rocco kept the White Sox batting order in the laundry hamper over the course of two innings on the hill. Rocco surrendered no hits and no runs while striking out four to pick up the victory.

Dealing two strikeouts in the third frame, TP reliever Julian (20) blanked Martingrove in the final inning to bring the curtain down on the proceedings.

The TP Major Mosquito Selects (10-0) continue their homestand at Christie Pits Diamond 2 next Sunday (July 14) evening when they host the Martingrove White at 6:00 p.m.
