Beneath a thick as pea soup blanket of hot and humid skies, the Toronto Playgrounds Minor Mosquito Selects had a fun and rewarding experience this weekend at the 2019 West Hill Baseball League (WHBL) Mosquito Select Tournament held at the Ken Morrish Softball Complex.
TP began its journey at the tourney on Friday night with a convincing 9-1 victory over the Markham Mariners at Adams Park to tally its first round robin game victory.
On Saturday morning, East York took no prisoners as they pounded TP 32-7 at the Ken Morrish Complex Diamond 4.
Late this afternoon, Wexford-Agincourt 2 prevailed 17-0 over Toronto Playgrounds.
With a 1-2 round robin record, TP was knocked out of the WHBL Tournament.
Despite falling short of their goal of reaching the playoff elimination round, the TP Minor Mosquito Selects nevertheless had a fun time at the West Hill Tournament. Their individual and collective experience at the weekend tourney will inevitably lead to better things to come later in the 2019 season.
WAY TO GO, TP!
