Toronto Playgrounds House League Baseball is proud to announce that it will be hosting its seventh Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Academy Instructional Clinic powered by Honda on Tuesday, August 31 at Christie Pits (750 Bloor Street West) for all interested participants aged 8 to 12.
Participants partaking in the clinic are taught exclusively by Blue Jays Baseball Academy instructors. Academy instructors are NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program) registered, experienced coaches, who have been trained in the “Blue Jays Way” of teaching baseball to youth. Many instructors have been with the Blue Jays Baseball Academy for several years, facilitating clinics and camps when they aren’t teaching baseball in their own communities. The instructors will teach young players (both male and female) all the necessary and fundamental skills one should know about baseball in a fun and structured atmosphere.
Each clinic will be four hours in length. During the clinic, Players rotate through drills that cover skills including: infield, outfield, hitting, throwing, agility, and baserunning. As first seen in 2019, Instructional Clinic registrants participate in a Baseball Athletic Training station which serves as an introduction to fundamental athletic movement.
The fee for the clinic is $65.00 (plus H.S.T.) per participant.
The instructional sessions will commence at 10:00 a.m. sharp and run until 2:00 p.m.
All registered players will receive a free Blue Jays hat, tee shirt and digital baseball skills manual.

The Blue Jays are keenly aware of the need for local associations (like Toronto Playgrounds House League Baseball) to raise funds to offset some of the rising costs they are experiencing. Therefore, TP Baseball will receive $500 for hosting the instructional clinic. In 2019, the Blue Jays were able to donate over $25,000 back to amateur baseball in Ontario as a result.
Not only are the Blue Jays Baseball Academy Instructional Clinics an excellent fundraising opportunity for local baseball associations, these clinics will also compliment the local association’s player development program. It’s a win win event for everyone involved.
