THE TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS 11U BLUE SELECTS TAME THE PANTHERS TO TAKE HOME THE CHAMPIONSHIP PRIZE IN A FUN FILLED WEEKEND IN BRANTFORD

Beneath a blistering blanket of hot and humid summer skies, the Toronto Playgrounds 11U Blue Selects defeated the Kitchener Panthers 16-7 this afternoon to win the 2022 Brantford Minor Baseball Association (BMBA) 11U Select Tournament Championship Game.
Here is a brief recap of the TP 11U Blue Selects journey at the tourney:
- Despite only having ten players available for the tourney, Toronto Playgrounds won their first two BMBA 11U Select Tournament round robin games.
- Taking no prisoners, TP 11U Blue defeated the West Mountain Cougars 11-5 to win their opening round robin game.
- With the wind in their sails, Toronto Playgrounds cruised to a dominating 15-0 victory over the Burlington Bulls to earn their second round robin win,
- TP’s two round robin victories earned the team a well deserved bye into the BMBA 11U Select tourney’s semi-final elimination round.
- In a rematch, Toronto Playgrounds faced the Burlington Bulls again in the semi-final elimination game.
- Down 5-1, the TP 11U Blue rallied back with ten unanswered runs to prevail 11-5 over the Bulls to advance to a championship game showdown for all the marbles versus Kitchener.
- It was also the first sleep over tournament for many of the TP 11U Blue players and they had a blast playing in the hotel pool
On behalf of our entire baseball community, the Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Association (TPBA) wishes to extend their congratulations to the coaches and players of the TP 11U Blue Select Team for their hard work and dedication in achieving championship glory at the 2022 BMBA 11U Select Tournament.
The TPBA also wishes to commend all the 11U Blue Select coaches, players, parents and family members for representing the core values of Toronto Playgrounds Baseball program with honour, dignity and professionalism both on and off the diamond at the BMBA tourney and during the course of the 2022 season.
