The Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Association (TPBA) is proud to announce that Professional Baseball Pitcher Angel Castro will be joining Toronto Maple Leaf Shortstop Jose Vinicios as Lead Instructors at 2022 TPBA Summer Baseball Camp!
Jose Vinicios of the Toronto Maple Leaf Baseball Club (TMLBC) of the Intercounty Baseball League, who we had already announced would be working as a Lead Instructor at the 2022 Toronto Playgrounds Summer Baseball Camp for the first two weeks, will be continuing as a Lead Instructor for at least the rest of July! We will keep everyone posted regarding August. As we announced in previous emails, Jose has played professional minor-league baseball for nine seasons, including playing at the AAA level in the Boston Red Sox, Chicago White Sox, and Arizona Diamondbacks organizations.
We are also pleased to announce that Angel Castro, a starting pitcher with the Toronto Maple Leaf Baseball Club (TMLBC) this season, will also be working with our TP Summer Baseball Camp as a Lead Instructor starting in week 2, the week of July 11! Angel will be working with our Intensive Skills Baseball Camp as well as our Summer Baseball Camp in the coming weeks.
Angel has pitched professionally at the AAA and AA level for a number of major league baseball organizations beginning in 2006…the Detroit Tigers, the Philadelphia Phillies, the Tampa Bay Rays, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Angel pitched in the major leagues as well as at the AAA level for the Oakland A’s from 2014 to 2016, and has also pitched professionally in Japan and Mexico.
We are obviously extremely excited to have Jose and Angel working with our camp and helping our participants develop and enhance their baseball skills! Working with players with that amount of professional baseball experience will be a great opportunity for our camp participants!
