Beneath a tranquil ceiling of warm midsummer skies, Toronto Playgrounds 10U ‘A’ Rep defeated the Royal York 10U ‘A’ Rep Cardinals 15-8 in a seven inning third game of the best of five series this afternoon at Westway Park to win the 2022 Toronto Baseball Association (TBA) 10U ‘A’ Championship.
Firing on all cylinders, TP 10U ‘A’ Rep swept away the Cardinals with three consecutive playoff wins to capture the best of five TBA 10U ‘A’ Championship Series 3-0.
Toronto Playgrounds began their championship quest with a take no prisoners 14-6 four inning win over Royal York to take the opening game of the best of five series.
With the summer wind in their sails, TP 10U ‘A’ Rep defeated the Cardinals 12-7 in a five inning Game 2 to take a stranglehold of the championship series.
Along with a well deserved TBA title, the TP 10U ‘A’ Reps were also rewarded with an invitation to the 2022 Ontario Baseball Association 10U Rep (OBA) Provincial Championship Playoffs in Woodstock.
During a fun and rewarding 2022 TBA regular season campaign, the Toronto Playgrounds 10U ‘A’ Reps finished with a not too shabby 11-7 overall record playing against teams primarily from the York Simcoe Baseball Association, including Aurora, Barrie, Markham, Newmarket, Orillia and Richmond Hill; in addition to Royal York.
On behalf of our entire baseball community, the Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Association (TPBA) wishes to extend their congratulations to Head Coach Marco Bianchi; Assistant Coaches Doug Allison; Marty Harden and Dylan Trowbridge; and the players of the TP 10U ‘A’ Rep Team for their hard work and dedication in achieving championship glory at the 2022 TBA 10U ‘A’ Rep Championship Series.
The TPBA also wishes to commend all the 10U ‘A’ Rep coaches, players, parents and family members for representing the core values of Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Association program with honour, dignity and professionalism both on and off the diamond at the TBA championship and during the course of the 2022 season.
