FINISHING THE TOURNEY WITH AN UNBLEMISHED 6-0 RECORD, TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS TAKE HOME THE CHAMPIONSHIP PRIZE AT THE VAUGHAN GROVE SPORTS PARK
Beneath a blanket of warm and succulent skies, the Toronto Playgrounds 14U ‘AA’ Reps defeated Halton Hills 15-5 this afternoon at Vaughan Grove Diamond # 2 to win the 2023 Vaughan Vikings 14U Rep ‘AA’ & Below Tournament Championship Game.
The TP 14U ‘AA’ Reps began their journey at the tourney on Friday night with a take no prisoners 16-0 victory over Barrie at Concord Regional Diamond #2.
In a Nash the Slash battle on Saturday morning, Toronto Playgrounds prevailed 6-2 over Markham ‘A’ at Concord Regional Diamond #2 to earn their second round robin win.
With the wind in their sails, the TP 14U ‘AA’ Reps topped Halton Hills 14-4 at Vaughan Grove Diamond #1 on Saturday afternoon to secure their third consecutive round robin victory.
Finishing the round robin phase with an undefeated 3-0 record, Toronto Playgrounds finished atop their tournament divisional pool and qualified for the tourney’s eight team elimination round on Sunday.
In a nitty gritty affair this morning at the Sports Village Diamond, the TP 14U ‘AA’ Reps stymied Ajax 9-6 in their quarter-final elimination game to stay alive at the Vaughan Tournament.
Subsequently, in a midday semi-final round elimination game, Toronto Playgrounds prevailed 9-7 over Markham ‘AA’ in a tooth and nail battle at Vaughan Grove Diamond #2 to punch their ticket into a championship round showdown versus Halton Hills.
