Beneath a patchwork ceiling of cloudy and sunny midsummer skies, the Toronto Playgrounds 12U ‘A’ Rep defeated the Bloordale 12U ‘A’ Rep Bombers 14-4 in a five inning 2023 Toronto Baseball Association (TBA) 12U ‘A’ Rep Tournament Championship Game this afternoon at Carmen Bush Field.
With their no holds barred championship victory over the Bombers, TP 12U ‘A’ Rep were duly rewarded with an invitation by the TBA to be their representative at the 2023 Baseball Ontario (OBA) Provincial Championship Tournament.
Toronto Playgrounds began their journey at the TBA tourney on Friday with a solid 7-3 win over the Martingrove 12U ‘A’ White Sox to earn their first TBA playoff game victory.
Putting the pedal to the metal, TP 12U ‘A’ Rep steamrolled to a convincing 21-6 win over North York 12U ‘A’ Rep on Saturday. With their second playoff victory, TP punched their ticket into the TBA championship round with a game versus Bloordale.
On behalf of our entire baseball community, the Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Association (TPBA) wishes to extend their congratulations to Head Coach Zachary Levinsky; Assistant Coaches Ben Goldstein; Jorge De Souza; Mark Steinberg and the players of the TP 12U ‘A’ Rep Team for their hard work and dedication in achieving championship glory at the 2023 TBA 12U ‘A’ Rep Tournament.
The TPBA also wishes to commend all the 12U Rep coaches, players, parents and family members for representing the core values of Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Association program with honour, dignity and professionalism both on and off the diamond at the TBA tourney and during the course of the 2023 season.
