FIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS, TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS 15U ‘AA’ REP TAME THE BULLDOGS IN ETOBICOKE TO BECOME THE TORONTO BASEBALL ASSOCIATION’S (TBA) REPRESENTATIVE AT THE 2024 BASEBALL ONTARIO (OBA) 15U ‘AA’ REP PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNEY IN KEMPTVILLE

Beneath a serene blanket of sunny and cloudy midsummer skies, the Toronto Playgrounds 15U ‘AA’ defeated the East York 15U ‘AA’ Bulldogs 18-6 this afternoon in Etobicoke to win the 2024 Toronto Baseball Association (TBA) 15U ‘AA” Rep Tournament Championship Game.
The TBA 15U ‘AA’ Tournament was governed by a double elimination knock-out format.
TP 15U ‘AA’ began its journey at the tourney on Thursday evening with a 7-1 victory over the Bloordale 15U ‘AA’ Bombers.
In a nip and tuck affair, TP 15U ‘AA’ prevailed 9-6 over the East York 15U ‘AA’ Bulldogs on Friday evening to earn its second victory at the TBA playoff tournament.
Taking care of business, TP 15U ‘AA’ defeated the Royal York 15U ‘AA’ Cardinals 5-1 on Saturday morning for its third win at the tourney.
Taking no prisoners, TP 15U ‘AA’ diffused Bloordale 15U ‘AA’ 13-3 to knock the Bombers out of the tourney, and earn its fourth tournament victory.
In a tooth and nail battle earlier this morning, East York 15U edged TP 15U ‘AA’ 5-4 to hand TP its first loss at the TBA tournament.
The Bulldogs victory set up a winner take all championship game showdown against TP 15U ‘AA’.
When the dust finally settled, TP 15U ‘AA’ took home the prize with a dominating 18-6 performance in the TBA 15U ‘AA’ Rep Championship Game.
With their TBA championship victory in hand, TP 15U ‘AA’ will be the TBA’s representative at the Seaway Surge hosted 2024 OBA Provincial 15U ‘AA’ Tournament during the Labour Day weekend in Kemptville.
In an exclusive interview with the TPBA Website, TP 15U ‘AA’ Rep Head Coach Joel Shaffer was asked to reflect upon his team’s championship success at the TBA 15U ‘AA’ tourney:
“TP 15U ‘AA’ went 5-1 in the tournament and were the only team out of the eight in our loop to go 4-0 on our way to the final round.”
“Each of the twelve players made significant contributions in the field and at the plate. The team benefited from strong pitching throughout the tournament.”
“And a special thanks from all the coaches and players to a fantastic group of TP 15U ‘AA’ parents for providing top notch food and drink service throughout the TBA tournament.”
