Beneath a checkered ceiling of sunny and cloudy summer skies, the Toronto Playgrounds 18U ‘A’ defeated the Scarborough 18U ‘A’ Stingers in a seven inning final this afternoon at Neilson Park to win the 2024 Toronto Baseball Association (TBA) 18U ‘A’ Rep Tournament Championship Game.
TP 18U ‘A’ began their journey at the TBA 18U ‘A’ Rep tourney on Saturday morning with a 6 ½ inning 6-4 victory over North York 18U ‘A’.
On Saturday afternoon, TP 18U ‘A’ took down the Scarborough 18U ‘A’ Stingers 11-4 in a seven inning affair to earn their second win at the TBA tourney.
With an unblemished 2-0 record, TP 18U ‘A’ punched their ticket into the TBA 18U ‘A’ Rep Tournament championship game, with a showdown for all the marbles versus the Stingers.
The Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Association (TPBA) wishes to extend their congratulations to Head Coach Jundino Ugo; Assistant Coaches Brian Cardoso and Josh Platz; Team Manager Kristin Nelson; and the players of the TP 18U ‘A’ Rep Team for their hard work and dedication in achieving championship glory at the 2024 TBA 18U ‘A’ Rep Tournament.
The TPBA also wishes to commend all the 18U ‘A’ Rep coaches, players, parents and family members for representing the core values of Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Association program with honour, dignity and professionalism both on and off the diamond at the TBA tourney and during the course of the 2024 season.
