A fun and glorious time was had by one and all at the 2018 Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club Forum and Reception held this evening at the Marriott Hotel to inaugurate the team’s fiftieth season at Christie Pits.

The Forum offered a great opportunity for attendees, both young and old, to ask questions to a wide array of former all-star players and hear about their unique experiences in the major leagues. Afterwards, attendees also had an opportunity obtain autographs from the all stars in attendance.

The baseball greats in attendance at this year’s soiree included Larry Bowa; Ferguson Jenkins; John Mayberry; Gaylord Perry and Luis Tiant.

It goes without saying that Jack Dominico, the owner of the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club, has been one of the most avid supporters of our Toronto Playgrounds House League Baseball program through the years. His beloved baseball team celebrates the start of the centennial IBL season with their 50th IBL Season Opener against the London Majors at Dominico Field Christie Pits on Sunday, May 6 at 2 p.m.

A total of eleven guests from Toronto Playgrounds Baseball were in attendance for the Maple Leafs forum and reception, including four members of the TP Baseball Committee (Chief Coordinator Steve Smith; President Bill Evans; and Committee Members Paul Hum and Jeff Kolyn). In addition, TP House League Baseball Umpire Emeritus Mike Zimmerman and Toronto City Councillor Mike Layton (Ward 19: Trinity-Spadina) graced the TP Baseball table with their presence.

And when all was said and done, everyone from TP had a grand old time!
