CUBBIES USE SOLID DEFENSE AND OPPORTUNE OFFENSE TO CLIMB OVER ARTFUL DODGERS

Clockwise from top left: Jaleelah (5) of the Cubs had a great all around game. Jaleelah used her speed to leg out a hit, had two walks, scored three runs and delivered a RBI. She also made a couple of nice defensive catches in the field,; Cubs pitcher Max (7) tossed a scoreless inning against the Dodgers; Solomon (4) also threw a scoreless inning for the Cubs; Jack (9) of the Cubs delivered two hits (double and single) and a walk.

Beneath a sky of unrelenting humidity at Christie Pits Diamond 2 this evening, the Cubs clawed the Dodgers 11-6 in 3 ½ innings of Mosquito Division play.

Here are some of the highlights:

  • Jaleelah (5) of the Cubs had a great overall game on the diamond. At the plate, she had a hit, two walks, one RBI, and scored three runs. On her hit, Jaleelah used her speed to leg out an infield hit. Jaleelah also made a couple of nice catches in the field.
  • Both Max (7) and Solomon (4) of the Cubs respectively pitched a scoreless inning against the Dodgers.
  • Jake (14) made two beautiful plays at shortstop for the Cubbies.
  • Hayden (15) of the Cubs had a nice at bat, by doggedly fouling off two pitches, before drawing a walk.
  • Jack (9) of the Cubs delivered two hits (double & single), along with a walk.
  • Cole (6) of the Cubs was a defensive powerhouse for both teams in left field.
