THE ARTFUL DODGERS SQUEAK BY THE CARDS IN THE FINAL INNING TO WIN THEIR FIRST ROUND ROBIN GAME

Michael (3) drew a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the fourth to bring home the Dodgers winning run.

Under picture perfect summer skies, the Dodgers edged the Cardinals 6-5 in a four inning nailbiter at Christie Pits Diamond 2 to win their first game in the Mosquito Division Round Robin.

With the bases loaded and the game tied 5-5 in the bottom of the fourth, Micahel (3) drew a RBI walk to bring in Adam (8) from third base with the Dodgers winning run.

Here are some additional highlights:

  • Cardinals starting pitcher Brian (5) threw a 1-2-3 first inning where he struck out all three Dodgers that he faced.
  • Dodgers reliever Sasha (13) threw two strong innings of relief in the second and third. Sasha allowed only one run while striking out four Cardinals.
  • Adam (14) doubled to lead off the top of the fourth for the Cards and eventually scored the run that tied the proceedings 5-5.
  • Louis (1) stroked a 2 RBI double in the second that allowed the Dodgers to tie the game 3-3.

The Dodgers (1-0) play their next round robin game against the Lizzies (2-0) on Saturday morning at 8:45 a.m. Meanwhile, the Cardinals (0-2) will host the Cubs (0-1) in their next round robin game on Saturday at 10:45 a.m.
