IN A WELL PLAYED GAME, THE LIZZIES AND ROYALS BATTLED TO A ROUND ROBIN DRAW AT CHRISTIE PITS

 

Trailing 4-2 and with two runners on base, Xavier (4) delivered a clutch 2 RBI double in the fourth inning to allow the Royals to tie their round robin game against Lizzies at Christie Pits Diamond 2. In two plate appearances, Xavier went 1 for 1 (sacrifice hit, double) with 3 RBI’s.

Beneath serene skies this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 2, the Lizzies and Royals played to a 4-4 tie in five entertaining innings of Peewee Division round robin action.

In a low scoring and well played game between two talented and well coached teams, solid pitching and stellar defense dominated the proceedings from start to finish

Here are the offensive highlights:

  • A two RBI single by John (6) that scored Jack (7) and John Eric (2) propelled the Lizzies into an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first.
  • Xavier (4) of the Royals delivered a RBI single in the bottom of the second to bring home Jacob (3) and trim the deficit to one.
  • In the top of the third, the Lizzies widened their lead to 4-1. Both Jack and John Eric utilized their speed on the basepaths and came home to roost.
  • After a lead off double and stolen base, Zack (15) motored home on a Lizzies error in the bottom of the third to trim the Royals deficit to two.
  • The Royals rallied for two in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game 4-4. With one out and two Royals on base, Xavier stroked a two RBI double to bring home Iliana (12) and Jacob.
