BANTAM > A’s & Expos Tie 5-5


UNDER THE LIGHTS AT DOMINICO FIELD AT CHRISTIE PITS, THE ATHLETICS AND EXPOS BATTLE TO A DRAW IN THE FINAL BANTAM DIVISION ROUND ROBIN GAME OF THE TOURNAMENT

 

Trailing 5-4, Michael F. (4) scored the Expos tying run in the top of the third in their Bantam Division round robin tournament game at Dominico Field at Christie Pits.

Beneath tranquil skies this evening at Dominico Field at Christie Pits, the A’s and Expos duelled to a 5-5 tie in five innings of Bantam Division round robin action.

After the A’s had rallied in the bottom of the second to take a 5-4 lead, the Expos answered back with a run in the top half of the third to even the proceedings.

For the rest of the game, the respective bullpens and defenses of each squad took charge of the game and kept one another off the scoresheet.

Here are some highlights:

  • The A’s scored a run in the bottom of the first to take an early 1-0 lead. Tyler (6) came home to roost.
  • The Expos offense exploded four runs in the top of the second to take a 4-1 lead. Cooper (8), Juan (2), Bridget (6) and Mathew (14) came homeward bound during the inning.
  • In the bottom of the second, the Athletics answered with four to retake the lead 5-4. Adam (8) and Victor (1) motored home safely. Tyler scored the tying run and Mikel (7) sauntered home with the go ahead score.
  • The Expos clawed back to tie the game in the top of the third. Michael F. (4) came home to plate the tying run.
