The Committee would also like to point out to everyone that Sunday, May 3 at 2:00 p.m. is the season opening game for the Toronto Maple Leafs of the Intercounty Baseball League. The Leafs, play on Dominico Field in the north east corner of Christie Pits. The games are free and entertaining….it is a very good level of baseball. Jack Dominico, the owner of the Maple Leafs, is a huge supporter of youth baseball and has done a tremendous amount over the years to generously support our program.
As one way of thanking him for everything he has done to help our house league program, we are encouraging all of you to head over to Dominico Field at Christie Pits on May 3 at 2:00 p.m. to watch the Leafs play. If you do go, and you have some Toronto Playgrounds uniforms and/or hats at home, please wear them to the game both to show Jack our support for him and to promote our fantastic house league at the same time.
At the Sunday, May 10 Maple Leaf home game, they will apparently be recognizing our TP House League and the great contribution we’ve made to youth baseball over the years, so it would also be great if as many of you as possible could make it out to that game…again please wear whatever Toronto Playgrounds uniforms you have to boost us even more!
