Under a canopy of warm and sunny skies for miles around, the Royals topped the Rays 12-6 in three fun innings of Mosquito Division play this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 2.

In the bottom of the first, the Royals tied the game 4-4 with that five walks and some aggressive base running.
-
Royals reliever Rory (2) entered the fray the top of the second and managed to strike out the side. However, a couple of Rays base runners came in on errors with the transition from catcher to pitcher as the Devil Rays took a 6-4 lead.
-
The Royals managed to string together six walks and score another four runs in the bottom of the second to retake the lead 8-6.
-
The Royals sent in reliever Jashen (9) to pitch in the top of the third and he managed to give up no runs with a couple walks.
-
In the bottom the third, the Royals garnered six walks and score four insurance runs to wrap up the game 12-6.
-
Royals shortstop Elyana (12) scooped up a ground ball and threw to Rory to get a nifty force out at third.
-
Royals second baseman Matthew (5) flashed the leather by grabbing a hot shot by the Rays and tagging the base runner going from first to second to register the out.
-
Lots of fun by both teams on a night where the weather couldn’t be better for baseball.
