THE GO GO LIZZIES WIN A SQUEAKER OVER THE BLUEBIRDS AT CHRISTIE PITS

Beneath a ceiling of warm and humid skies, the Lizzies edged the Jays 3-2 in 3 ½ innings of Mosquito Division action tonight at Christie Pits Diamond 2.
Here is a Jays account of the proceedings:

Matthew (11) and Jeremy (4) had RBI walks for the Jays.

Jays starter Joshua (3) pitched a scoreless first inning.

Jays shortstop Noah (9) saved the scoreless inning in the first with an amazing sliding stop on a ball that bounced up off his cheek. After Noah picked it up, he got the force on a bang bang at second.

Jays reliever Jeremy (4) gave up just one run in the bottom of the second inning.

Vincent (7) threw out a Lizzies runner stealing third during the second.

Jays reliever Theo (2) struck out the side in the bottom of the third while giving up just two runs

The Jays loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the fourth, but couldn’t bring it home.
