Under a blanket of warm and hazy skies, the White Sox defeated the Lizzies 8-5 in three innings of Mosquito Division play this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 2.

Here is a Lizzies account of the proceedings:
  • Pitching for the third time this season in the top of the first, Lizzies starter Luca C. (14) showed a lot of progress over his previous start. While giving up four runs to the White Sox, Luca C. struck out two batters.
  • After Felix (3) led off the bottom of the first with a walk and a stolen base, Dajuan (7) was hit by a pitch to put two runners on base. At this juncture, the Lizzies tried a double steal. Although Dajuan stole second, Felix was unfortunately thrown out at third base by the White Sox.
  • With one out, the Lizzies loaded the bases on an infield hit by Shamus (9) and a walk to Cameron (6). However, White Sox starter Eli D. (4) struck out the next two Lizzies batter to preserve their 4-0 lead.
  • In the top of the second, Lizzies reliever Dajuan (7) pitched a scoreless inning while also striking out three White Sox batters.
  • White Sox reliever Solly (14) kept the Lizzies off the scoresheet in the bottom of the second with three strikeouts.
  • Lizzies reliever Sebastian (2) struck out two White Sox in the top of the third. However, the White Sox added four runs to their tally and stretch their lead to 8-0.
  • After getting on base with a one out single to centre in the bottom of the third, Felix stole a pair of bases to reach third. The Lizzies were able to load the bases on a pair of walks to Shamus and Cameron. Thomas (13) followed with the Lizzies first RBI of the game on a one out walk that brought Felix home to roost.
  • On a two strike count, Sebastian (2) delivered a clutch 2 RBI hit that scored Shamus and Cameron and trim the deficit to five.
  • After Sebastian stole second, Kazou (10) provided the Lizzies with another two strike grace under pressure 2 RBI single to right field that plated both Thomas and Sebastian and slice the margin to 8-5.
  • However, the White Sox were finally able to stop the Lizzies valiant rally attempt by getting a force out at second base and striking out Luca C. to end the game.
