FIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS, THE METROPOLITANS DISPATCH THE EXPOS AT CHRISTIE PITS

AMAZIN’ METS > Flynn (7) [top] delivered a triple in the third inning to power the Mets offense; Mets reliever Quinn (14) pitched a scoreless second by striking out three Expos.

Under a thick blanket of hot and humid skies, the Mets defeated the Expos 12-2 in four innings of Peewee Division play this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 2.

Here is a Mets highlights summary:

• Mets starter Flynn (7) strikes out one Expo in the bottom of the first inning.
• Mets reliever Quinn (14) tosses three strikeouts in the bottom of the second versus the Expos.
• In the top of the third, Flynn powers a deep fly ball into right field for a triple!
• Julia (11) strokes a RBI single on a fly ball into right field.
• Mike (6) delivers a line drive single between first and second.
• Mets reliever Julia strikes out one Expo in the third.
• Michael (5) caught a pop fly at first.
• Julia caught a pop fly over the pitching mound.
• In the fourth, Cameron (15) got an RBI on line drive single.

• On the last night of August, the Expos hosted the Mets for four good innings at the Pits.
• The amazing Expos pitching effort was shared by Taras (9), Dean (14) and Adam (1).
• The Expos received masterful catching from Haydn (11) and Cameron (15).
• All the infield and outfield positions were shared by Olivia (6), Taras, Han (2), Avi (10), Cooper (5), Dean, Alexia (3) and Ella (8) and everyone put in a good effort.
• The expos had three hits – all singles by Haydn, Adam and Cameron.
• Haydn also took a pitch in the back with courage but was left on base at the end of the inning.
• Avi, Cooper, Han and Dean showed patience at the plate to get on base with a walk.
• The Expos tried their best and had fun time despite losing the battle.
