Despite the rain yesterday, September Madness’ continues to sail along at hydrofoil speed.

Upwards of 52 games are scheduled to be played within the next twelve day span of the tournament (weather permitting, of course). With the completion of fifteen more games yesterday evening, there are only 22 more left to be played.

In spite of how wet it was, it was a day of amazing youth baseball! The Committee would like to extend a HUGE thank you to all the parents and players and siblings who helped clear the water off our baseball diamonds and get it playable. It was great teamwork!

As we continue into the weekend portion of the tourney, we have a another serving of games scheduled for today (Sunday, September 13). This is a reminder that we’re going to try to get all of our scheduled games in today, so we’ll play in conditions of light rain. So don’t assume a game isn’t on if it’s raining…check the hotline (416-392-1914) website (www.tpbaseball.ca), or Twitter (@tpbaseballnews) one hour before game time to find out whether the game is on or not.

And with Mother Nature’s cooperation, all of our participating players and coaches will receive a free lunch today (Sunday, September 13) at Christie Pits. Each player and coach will receive a free lunch consisting of a hot dog (meat or veggie), bag of chips, and a juice box.

UPDATE: Rain has forced the cancellation of the Sunday BBQ Lunch Event.

Food and drinks will also be available for sale at our TP Baseball BBQ Zone to parents, siblings, friends, and other fans.

Here is the revised ‘September Madness’ Team Lunch Schedule:

Players, Parents and Coaches are strongly advised to check your tournament schedule carefully for the dates and times of your team’s games. It is very important that we start all games at the start time listed on the schedule…please try to be at the diamond at least 15 to 30 minutes before the start time to give the coaches a chance to get the line ups organized.

Also, it is really important, given that the sun sets earlier and diamond 3 has no lights, and that we have a second game scheduled on diamond 2 each night, that players and coaches are ready to go at the time indicated on the schedule. Games scheduled for 5:45 p.m. will have to start at 5:45 p.m. regardless of how many players are present.

Because we really want to wrap up the tournament by the end of the second full week of September, we will play in conditions of light rain that might have caused us to cancel regular season games. So don’t assume a game is cancelled because of rain. On days of questionable weather, Players and Parents are strongly advised to check the our Twitter feed, the Hotline [(416) 392-1914], or website if the weather is suspect for updates on the status of their games. Updates will be posted 45-60 minutes prior to the official game time.

The annual tournament to wrap up the season is baseball lover’s delight with a cornucopia of games from four age divisions being played over four diamonds at Christie Pits and Bickford Park.

Updated scores and standings will be posted on our website after the conclusion of play each and every night. Game Reports (when available) will be posted the next day.

Additionally, people can also keep up to date with all the scores and important news via our Twitter feed @TPbaseballnews during the tournament. One can also keep up with the scores and standings at the park by viewing our information bulletin board at Christie Pits during the week.

And on the busy weekend of the tourney when 26 games are scheduled to be played, Parents and Players can keep tabs on the tournament by visiting the TP Tournament Scoreboard at the park for the latest updated scores and standings.

There are only 22 games remaining on the love boat that is ‘September Madness’. Jump on board SST and fly away to the voyage of a lifetime.
