THE INTERGALCTIC ASTROS PREVAIL OVER THE BLUEBIRDS AT CHRISTIE PITS
Game Summary edited with file from Philip Ramcharan
Under a blanket of hot and muggy skies, the Astros edged the Jays 6-5 in 3 ½ innings of Mosquito Division action this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 2.
Here is a Jays account of the proceedings:
-
In the midst of the dog days of summer, the Jays were missing several players and had to cobble a team of seven together with four Jays, one Astro and two Rookie Ball Division call ups.
-
Some wild arms led to several walked in runs.
-
Good base running.
-
Nice 6-3 out made by Julian (9) and Zachary (14).
-
Malcolm (12) pitched great for the Jays.
-
Nice double by Stephen (1) [who joined the Jays lineup from the Astros] that helped to put the Jays in the lead 4-2 after the first inning.
-
However, the Astros came back to lead 6-4 after two innings.
-
The Jays tried to mount a comeback but came up short 6-5.
