In a nutshell, the Cardinals played an awesome defensive game to stymie the potent TP offensive machine. With the loss to Royal York, TP experienced its first defeat at the EBA Rookie Ball Select playoff tournament.
Both TP [2-1] and Royal York [3-1] will face one another again at 2:00 p.m. The winner of this second semi-final game will punch a ticket into the tourney’s championship final.
Each team participating in this season’s EBA Rookie Ball Select Championship Tournament is working under the double knockout formula, whereby a team is eliminated from the tourney once they have lost two playoff elimination games.
TP opened their playoff journey at the tourney with a thrilling 13-12 come from behind seven inning victory over the Bloordale Bombers yesterday (Saturday, August 20) morning.
In a late Saturday afternoon game, TP earned its second playoff victory with a dominating 19-4 six inning win over the Annette A’s.
Additional updates will be posted as they become available.
